My primary goal for this website is to share my ketogenic diet experiences as well as research-backed information about keto.
I’ve noticed my weight gradually increase over the past eight years to the point I became officially overweight according to the BMI calculator and not very far from hitting class 1 obesity. I weighed around 160 pounds (73kg) the last time I checked my weight some months ago, and my height is 5”3.
I’ve tried all kinds of diets to lose weight, but the maximum I’ve managed to control my sugar cravings is for four days. I’d do some squats and lunges now and then but have been mostly sedentary over the past eight years, and it’s as if my body was continuously losing the energy to be physically active.
I can’t even remember the last time I bought something to wear that made me feel good and confident.
Despite all of this, I continued living my life like who cares until I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism a few months ago. I was also having major irregular period problems because my last period was in August 2018, and I kept getting negative pregnancy tests.
All of the above and the fact I’ll be turning 28 in July 2019 is what gave me the push I needed to do something and to do it asap. As a health writer, I have a couple of years of experience researching and writing about the ketogenic diet, and I must say I’m blown away by its science-backed health benefits.
I also love the fact that a lot of people consider it as a lifestyle rather than a diet and that’s why I’ve started the ketogenic diet from January 2019. My husband has decided to join me to encourage me and also because he’s intrigued by all the things I’ve been telling him about keto.
Ps. If this ^ is considered a “diet” then I’m ready to embrace it for the rest of my life.
UPDATE: I had my period back after five months, and it happened on the 7th day of keto.
